AHS TechnoHawks Take 2nd Place at State Competition

Lego League 001 WEB.jpg Robot Lego WEB.JPG

AHS's First Lego League (FLL) Team, the AHS Techno Hawks, finished second place in the Rookie Division at the state competition on January 14. Seventy-nine teams from Northern California, Oregon and SW Washington competed in this year’s Oregon tournament.

The Techno Hawks were invited to the state tournament after they won first place, Rookie Division, during a local qualifying tournament in December. The Rookie Team Award encompasses all aspects of the competition, robot design, robot performance, research project presentation and team work.

Members of the AHS Techno Hawks are: seventh-graders Valerie Fisher, Simon Henrich, Benjamin Meyer, and Michael Stockem, and sixth-grader Mackenzie Elliott.

The team would like to thank all who have supported them throughout the past year, donating time, money, space, box tops, and talent. Congratulations AHS Techno Hawks on a job well done! The following documents will show you how the AHS TechnoHawks were scored and ranked.

Welcome to AHS!

Thank you for your interest in Archbishop Howard School. Choosing the right learning environment for your child and family is one of the most important decisions you can make.

As Principal of Archbishop Howard School for eleven years, I am proud to introduce you to our school. In the tradition of over ninety-two years of quality Catholic education, we continute to provide strong academic programs that are integrated with strong Catholic values, a sense of family, and community outreach. Our dedicated and highly trained teachers and support staff, working in partnership with equally dedicated stakeholders, are committed to sharing the vision and mission of our school.

Our model language arts program, the Writing Road to Reading, begins in Kindergarten and is integrated through the fifth grade. This program, along with high expectations for student learning, opportunities for faith development, a newly updated computer lab, and a versatile music program, provides a strong foundation for our students academically and spiritually, preparing them for the future.
